Extreme Tall Biking in LA!

Check out the above video showing an extreme example of a tall bike and what it's like to be riding it.  The end of the video shows some pictures of the bike which is nice cause the rest of the video is mostly from the driver's eye view on the bike.

For an interesting tall bike link see: Tall Bikes of the Rat Patrol

Some Bikes of Cairo

All photos of this post: Starr Brainard
My niece sent me these photos of bikes in Cairo (yes, some of them should technically be called tricycles).  She mentions that "Biking might not be stylish or institutionalized in Cairo, but when it surfaces biking is very functional and practical; of the people and for the people."

Cycling in Cairo!

Credit for Photos: Starr Brainard.  Click on the above photo to enlarge it.
My niece is currently attending classes at a university in Egypt and she sent me the above photos of a man cycling in Cairo.  I'm hoping that she and her friends in Egypt will send me many more cycling photos and maybe even some cycling videos from that part of the world.

A Bicycling and Walking Paradise - The Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis

The Stone Arch Bridge is an old railroad bridge that crosses the Mississippi River and it has been converted into a bicycle and walkway bridge with no civilian automobiles allowed. Various festivities are also held on the bridge. The above pictures show the bridge on a beautiful autumn day. (Click on photos to enlarge them.) To see additional views of the Stone Arch Bridge click here.

A Late Summer Cycling Trip in Spain!

My sister and her husband went on a September cycling trip in Catalonia, which is in the northeastern part of Spain.  They were just below Barcelona.  The first two pictures are of my sister's husband.  I'm not sure who's the person in the third picture.  The final picture is of the courtyard of the place where they stayed.

The "Bicycle Bridge" next to the Kitty Cat Klub in Minneapolis

Minneapolis is now known as one of the most advanced bicycling cities in the United States, and yet the Minneapolis government will provide only a fraction of the necessary parking spots for bicycles.  Thus you have features like the "Bicycle Bridge" next to the Kitty Cat Klub in the DinkyTown area of Minneapolis.  (Note: You can enlarge the above photos by clicking on them.)

Hello

Welcome to the World Bicycling Blog, the sister site of The World Directory of Bicycling Organizations & Associations (www.earthdirectory.net/bike).  The purpose of this blog is to be your number one blog for linking to the bicycling organizations and associations of the world and for linking to any other interesting, useful and fun bicycling information.  I'm not sure yet exactly what this blog is going to evolve into and so we'll just see what happens.  Enjoy your cycling!
